Painting by Request A few considerations

Art that resonates—where color sings and feeling finds form.
Commissions are a quiet collaboration
An unfolding of story, memory, and atmosphere, translated into paint. Each piece is created slowly, with intention, and designed to live with you for a lifetime.
How long does it take for a painting to be completed?
Each painting unfolds in its own time. The subject, scale, and particularly for portraits, the number of figures all shape the pace of the work
Most single portraits and paintings are completed within 30-60 days, though larger or more intricate pieces may require longer.
Working in oils is a slow and deliberate process. Each layer must dry naturally before the final varnish is applied, and then cure again before it is ready to leave the studio.
For this reason, I accept commissions with a generous timeline, allowing the work to be completed with care rather than haste.
Can you paint from a photograph?
Yes, I can work from a photograph. If the image was taken by a professional photographer, written permission is required for its use.
When possible, I prefer to create my own reference images. This allows me to capture the subtle qualities of light, tone, and atmosphere that brings a painting fully to life.
Do you ship outside of the United States?
Yes, Each piece is carefully prepared for travel. Shipping costs vary based on the size of the work, as well as crating, insurance, and any applicable international fees.
Do You offer framing?
I do. Should you wish, I can select a frame that complements the spirit of your painting and have it professionally finished. This is offered as an additional service.
What is the investment for a commissioned painting? Each piece is priced according to its size and subject:
Portraits: 6.00 per square inch
add 1.00/sq inch for each additional figure
Landscapes, florals, and nature studies: 5.00 per square inch
Shipping included within USA
What is required to begin?
A 25% non-refundable deposit reserves your place in the studio and allows work to begin.
The remaining balance is due prior to delivery or shipment.
Do you accept returns?
Because each painting is created as a personal commission, returns are not offered.
Throughout the process, I remain in close communication with you while the painting is still in progress. This allows for thoughtful refinements, ensuring the final piece feels entirely right before it is completed, varnished, and prepared for its new home.
